About me
Born in 1973, I grew up in Breda, a city in The Netherlands. My parents succeeded in giving me a happy youth, a good education and suchlike. I am inclined to say my youth was excellent.
In the ’90’s, my father took part in setting up a bank in Sri Lanka. My mother read about other mothers who were forced to raise children in prisons. My parents succeeded in getting governmental permission for building a school on prison ground. They showed me what dedication and perseverance can do in life.
It is safe to say that I enjoyed student life and I combined it with various jobs. During work, I proved my ability to achieve goals and my efforts were noticed. So, I rolled in new opportunities, kept giving it my best efforts and developed my professional skills. In 2000, I started my own internet marketing company with two colleagues.
Bigger cities like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Denver, Dubai and Paris always appealed to me. While visiting such cities for work or pleasure, I enjoyed my stay to the max. This is how I return with renewed appreciation of my city and my day-to-day life.
Because I always wanted to build my own home, I bought a ruinous house from 1899 in the center of Breda. I rebuilt everything the way I preferred. It took me 24 months, a broken back and a near bankruptcy, but I triumphed.
I still enjoy the fruits of my labor each day. Even though I keep seeing architectural mistakes I made at the start of the project, I still love our house. I live there with my wife Miriam, daughter Lara and son Kas. It’s a good life.
